We invite you to relax in the friendly atmosphere of our peaceful, well-kept, small town of Mount Ayr. Whether you want to browse in our gift shops, sample local restaurants serving steaks to pizza, enjoy sitting on the wrap around porch, watch TV or curl up with a book on the sofa, we promise to make your stay enjoyable.

 

Mount Ayr is located 95 miles southwest of Des Moines, 130 miles southeast of Omaha, 50 miles south of Winterset, 23 miles west of Lamoni and 150 miles north of Kansas City. We are located at the Junction of Hwy 2 & 169, 23 miles from I-35.  Directions to Charlie-Janes:

 

From Hwy 2

Turn at the Sinclair station and come to the square.  As you circle the square you will see the US Bank that is Madison Street, continue on Madison Street for 2 blocks going west, and you will see our B&B and our Charlie-Jane’s sign is in the yard on your right.

Aunt Jennie's Attic is a unique shopping experience where visitors will find a unique collection of antique furniture, dishes, glassware, as well as rustic paintings, original woodcarvings, pottery, Amish baskets, dolls, quilts, collectibles, and giftware with a country theme. New treasures arrive almost daily, so there's always something "new" in the attic.

Jamie's Coffee Mill and Deli

The building is dated to the 1920's as a old feed store. The building was completely remodeled in 2006, keeping the rustic feel alive. Inside you will find a selection of many unique gift items, home decor & a relaxing setting for eating the freshly made sandwich, wrap or panini. A variety of coffees, espresso's & smoothies are made to order.
